Brown-Robinson Funeral Home Obituaries

Ronald Rico Davis

The Sunshine has set in a resting place. The Sunshine was Ronald Rico Davis, who passed away on Sunday, January 17, 2021 at the age of 65 due to Covid-19 related complications. Ronald died in Mexico City, Mexico to where he had recently retired.

Ronald Rico Davis was born in Lorain, Ohio to parents Thomas Richard Davis and Adine Lilliemae Spinks Davis. Ronald’s six siblings called him ‘Ronnie’, but his friends and co-workers called him ‘Sunshine’. They called him ‘Sunshine’ because Ronald was always smiling and always had an encouraging word for everyone. Ronnie was a joy and pleasure to be around, bringing light into the lives of many. His family pinned Ronnie as the ‘International Traveler’, visiting several countries and states. After graduating from Clearview High School, he left home to pursue a life of travel and adventure. His hobbies were travel and interior design. Ronnie was not the person that could say “I wish I would have done this or that.” He lived a blessed and fruitful life to the fullest.

Ronald career was in the Hospitality industry, assignments ranging from Maître d', Supervisory and Management positions. Employers included Four Seasons San Francisco, Hollywood Roosevelt, Hyatt and Marriott Worldwide.

Ronald was indeed a ‘free spirit’, over the years living in Atlanta, New York, Chicago, Texas, Miami, San Francisco, Los Angles and Mexico City, Mexico.

Ronald’s church affiliation was with his hometown church, Mt. Zion Baptist Church and while living in New York, the Brooklyn Tabernacle.

Ronald had no spouse or children, but had a host of nieces and nephews. He is survived by sisters; Rose Ann Davis Wilson and Renee Marie Jeffries, brothers-in-law; David Jeffries and Eugene S. Wilson, brothers; Raymond Davis and Robert Rufus Davis, sisters-in-law; Candace Davis, Kim Davis, Carolyn Davis and Wanda Davis, nephews; Donovan Wilson, Sterling Jeffries, Robert Terrell Davis, Moses Davis, John Davis and Pappy Davis, nieces; Melanie Wilson, Nichole Davis, Yolanda Davis, Tamica Davis, Raquel Davis, Mallory Davis, Nevaeh Davis and Hope Rose Davis and a host of great nieces and nephews.

Preceding Ronald in death were his parents, Thomas Richard Davis and Adine Lilliemae Spinks Davis, and brothers, Richard Thomas Davis and Roy Lee (Froggie) Davis.

Per Ronald’s final wishes: Cremation, no funeral, a private memorial with family only.

Ronald’s Facebook page will be left open and all are welcome to post memories, condolences and final words.
