Jesse Carl Kimbro

June 20, 1946 - February 6, 2021

Jesse Carl Kimbro, 74, of Elyria, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, February 6, 2021 at University Hospitals Elyria Medical Center after a lengthy illness of renal kidney failure.

He was born to the late Jesse L. & Lucille (Woodard) Kimbro on June 20, 1946 in Nashville, Tennessee. Carl, as he was often called, attended Nashville City Schools. He entered Job Corps and moved to Elyria. He worked at Tappan for 10 years and then retired from Lorain Head Start as a janitor.

He loved to work on cars, fishing, playing cards and cooking his famous macaroni and cheese. He was an avid fan of the Cleveland Cavaliers, Indians and Browns. He enjoyed spending time with his family, grandchildren and especially his great grandchildren.

He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Velma (Taylor) Kimbro; his daughters, Yolanda Kimbro, Yvette Kimbro (Seth Wilkerson Sr.) of Elyria; a granddaughter, Chelsea Stubbs (Matthew Yost) of Lorain; a grandson who was more like his son, Charles Stubbs of Elyria; his great grandchildren, Seth Wilkerson Jr, Samya Wilkerson and Kylie Yost; a sister, Fredie Whitsett of Twinsburg, Ohio; brothers, Nathaniel (Sandra) Kimbro of Elyria and George Kimbro of Nashville, Tennessee and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws and friends.

In addition to his parents, Jesse L. and Lucille Kimbro, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Raymond Ray Kimbro, Prentice Kimbro, Mansfield Kimbro Sr, Harold Gene Kimbro and Thomas Babe Woodward and a sister, Vera Kirkendoll.

The family will receive friends at Gods Kingdom, 423 Washington Ave, Lorain, OH on Friday, February 12, 2021 from 10:00 a.m. until time of private family services at 11:00 AM. Burial at Brookdale Cemetery in Elyria.

Social distancing, COVD-19 safe practices and wearing a mask are required.
