July 6, 1967 - April 12, 2019

An angel of the Lord has called his name.
Our dear brother L Kial Anthony Watkins answered that call.

Kial was born on July 6, 1967 in Schenectady, NY to the late Lottie Frances Watkins and the late Lester Brown. He departed this life on Friday, April 12, 2019 at Williamson Memorial Medical Hospital in Franklin TN.

L Kial Anthony Watkins was born to the late Lottie Francis Watkins and the late Lester Brown. He was the eldest child of Lottie and was preceded in death by his sister Kamika McDonald.

At the age of 23 Kial was united in marriage to Verdie Palmer and to this union 3 children where born; Clinton Chancellor, Kennedy Alexander and Zharria Faith.

Kial received his primary education from Mt Carmel, 1972-1979 and his secondary education from Bishop Gibbons, 1979-1985 both in Schenectady, NY. He continued his education earning his bachelor degree in Computer Science in 1989 from Niagara University, Niagara Falls, NY

Kial enjoyed working with computers and aspired to become a Project Manager in the workforce. Before that could happen he would progress from Computer Programmer to VRU and IVR Support and Management (Voice Response/Interactive Voice Response) to SME. His recent position allowed him to reach the goal of Project Manager and he looked forward to working with his team daily. His second love would be photography and he passed that love onto his children, family and friends and anyone who had an interest in photography.

Kial’s love for travel began at a young age when his grandmother, Nora Watkins, would take him with her on trips. His love of travel took him to 44 of the 50 states and even a few international destinations such as Italy, Madrid, Mexico, Venezuela and Canada.

Kial accepted the Lord at a young age and attended church in Schenectady and Poughkeepsie, NY. His love of music drew him to the choir ministry and he sang with Lighthouse and recording artist Jerome Ferrell of Buffalo, NY. Kial served in several ministries with love and devotion and was happy to become a deacon and later an ordained minister and elder. Kial’s love of photography also allowed him to serve in the media and sound ministry. His love of children and genuine care drove him to always have an encouraging word and be an active supporter.
