March 1, 1941 - July 30, 2018

Mary O. McDowell, 77, of Lorain, passed away unexpectedly on July 30, 2018 at Mercy Regional Medical Center. She was born March 1, 1941 in Three Point, Tennessee and was a resident of Ohio for over 60 years. She was an Evangelist and a member of Body of Christ Church in Lorain. She formerly worked as a nurse’s aide and she loved cooking and spending time with her family.

Mary is survived by her children, Cleveland Watkins, Virginia Green (Pastor Robert), Tom Bennett, Anthony Bennett, Angie Shelton, Jimmy Bennett, and Rebecca Carter (Demetrius); 40 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren, and 5 great-great grandchildren; her sisters, Margaret Nelson (her twin), Elizabell Owens, Minister Delores Outlaw (Charles), Apostle Frances Wallace (Kevin), and Lilly Mae Watkins; brothers, Minister Sam Watkins (Kristy), Deacon James Watkins (Josie), and Minister Willie T. Watkins (Min. Jackie Watkins); and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her son, Nate Watkins; father and mother, Wade and Lossie Mae Watkins; a sister, Henrietta Childress; brothers, Larry, Eugene, Wendell, Ricky, and Wade Jr. Watkins; grandchildren, Tom Bennett, Jasmine Jackson, Cleveland Watkins Jr., and Troy Hill.

Viewing will be Saturday, August 11, 2018 from 10AM until time of service at 11AM at Call Out Church of the Almighty God, 7809 W River Rd S, Elyria, where Bishop Willie J. Cooper is pastor. Apostle Robert Scott Dixon is officiating and Overseer Rodney L. Thomas is eulogizing. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery, Lorain.
