Thomas R. Hisle

August 22, 1939 - July 9, 2018

Thomas Robert Hisle, 78, of Lorain, Ohio passed away on July 9, 2018 at Mercy Regional Medical Center in Lorain after a lengthy illness. He was born August 22, 1939 in Portsmouth, Ohio and was a resident of Lorain for 66 years. He attended Lorain High School and retired from Norfolk & Western Railway and was a Brotherhood of the Railroad union member. He also worked for Ed’s Transmission and owned his own business, Hisle Garage, for 40 years.

He loved traveling, working on cars, fishing, and spending time with family and friends, and had a love of fashion.

Thomas leaves to cherish his memory, his wife of 57 years, Rosemary Hisle (nee Sylvester); 6 children, Teresa Maclin of Flint MI, Tyrone Chaney and Tamaron Wilson of Lorain, Anthony Chaney of Detroit MI, Joleen Conners of Toledo OH, and Terese Hisle of Atlanta GA; sisters, Linda Jeffries and Charlotte Hisle of Lorain; 15 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Ada Hisle; sisters, Elizabeth Ada Vaughn, Bobbie Jo Shannon, and Mary Kay Bruce; and a brother, Roy Hisle.

Visitation will be Monday, July16 from 11:00 am until time of service at 12:00 pm at Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church, 3900 Clifton Ave., Lorain. Bishop Peter Tower is officiating. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery.
