Cecelia Elizabeth Alston
June 16, 1952 - March 16, 2018
Cecelia Elizabeth Alston (nee Thompson), 65, of Lorain, passed away Friday, March 16, 2018 at Mercy New Life Hospice Center in Lorain following a lengthy illness. She was born June 16, 1952 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and lived in Lorain County since 1962.
Cecelia was a foster care mother for many years and was a member of Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church. She enjoyed reading, singing, dancing, cooking, and spending time with her family and extended family.
Cecelia leaves to cherish her memory her children: Curtis Scott-Alston, Anthony Cortez-Scott-Alston, Da’Vaughn Jerome Scott-Alston, Andrew Michael Scott-Alston, and Aaron James Scott-Alston; her mother, Rachael Davis; her sisters, Marsha Sharpey and Marlene Davis; her brothers, Cornell Thompson, Gary Thompson, Earl “Guy” Davis, and Anthony Davis; special friends, Vicky Carlton, Rachael Bell, Mary Ann Evans, David Hrinda, Kim Gaddie, and Jhonny Ewing; a grandchild, Isabelle Marie Brown; and a host of other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jimmy Alston; her father, Hubert Grant Thompson; a brother, Hubert Grant Thompson Jr.; and grandparents, Arthur Sr. and Mable Hicks.
Bishop Peter Tower, Pastor, is officiating the service. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery in Lorain.
